Surgery fixes the problem. Recovery is still on you. You don't have to do it alone.
Post-surgical massage focuses on the scar and the tissue around a surgical site to improve mobility and relieve pain once your doctor has cleared you. I've been through surgery and three C-sections myself, so I know how tight, numb, or "stuck" a scar can feel long after the stitches are gone.
What to Expect
A doctor's clearance note is required before your first session. You can email it to me ahead of time at olivia@themuscleveteran.com.
We go through your full history: why you had surgery, what was done, and whether you're in PT or OT, so my work supports your recovery instead of competing with it.
Gentle manual and myofascial techniques to reduce restriction, improve circulation, and restore movement.
Each session adapts to where you are in your recovery.

Post-Surgical FAQ
How soon after surgery can I come in?
It depends on your doctor. Once you have written clearance, you're ready. Every surgery and every body heals on its own timeline.
Do I really need a doctor's note?
Yes. It protects you and keeps your care consistent. Email it to me before your appointment to save time.
What's the difference between standalone Scar Work and the add-on?
Standalone Scar Work gives the full session to your scar, so I can go more in-depth. The add-on fits into another session, which limits the time and how deep I can work depending on the scar.
I'm already in physical therapy. Should I still come?
Massage can work alongside PT. Tell me what your therapist has you doing so we stay on the same page.
Is it too late if my surgery was years ago?
No. Older scars can still be worked on and often still affect how you move.
